Chidu gets a shoe!!!!!

After America’s Ex President Bush was Indian Home Minister Chidambaram’s turn to dodge the shoe. Has the common man’s shoe become the most powerful tool to express public opinion? Is this is a trend that is soon going to become the popular means to display the common man’s angst against the government?

Lathon Ke Bhooth Bathon Se Nahin Manthe. I agree with shoe throwing. Congress has a chance to give its members a clean chit and it is doing so. Tytler who is one of the prime accused in the 1984 riots was recently given a clean chit by the CBI. This has angered the Sikhs and anyone can understand their sentiments. This is not the first time that Congress has tried to cover its tracks. Remember Office of Profit Act? When they asked Jaya Bachan to declare her assets and the same came back to bite the Congress they enacted OOP Act to protect themselves. Why don’t people see this? Now they are giving their own man a route to escape.

This has further got me thinking if we have restricted the definition of being communal only to Hindus & Muslims. What about Christians and Sikhs? Wasn’t Congress being Communal in carrying out Operation Bluestar? Was invasion of the temple the only way to get back law and order in Punjab? What about the riots that ensued after Indira Gandhi’s assassination? How does one justify killing of thousands of people for an act committed by just two people (I.G’s Bodyguards)?

The common man has finally found his voice in action. Cheers to Jarnail Singh!

Oh I am thoroughly in favour. But sadly even shoes don't seem to knock sense into these thick skinned people's heads. :x

i wonder how the quality of the opinion can be measured.. brand? size? angle? curve throw? speed? there must be some metrics..

When the politicians haven't been able to measure the common man's words and work towards improving the country for the masses ,even an action like throwing a shoe will be hard to measure. But if it really has to be measured lets say a direct hit at the target would be an opinion of the highest quality.

Hey Little Girl... Part I

The little girl aped her elder brother. To her, he was the coolest dude that existed. She was the kid in school who was spoken to because she was so and so’s sister. As a kid she was extremely naïve. Her brother was the quizzer, the topper, the teacher’s pet, the social guy and everybody liked him. She on the other hand was the brat, the swimmer, a teacher’s nightmare, anti social and didn’t want to be liked by anyone. They were polar opposites of each other. The Journey

Last weekend was amazing. It began by me traveling solo from Mysore to Madras. I plonked my bags at my best friend's place. Her roomie, she and I headed to Mahabalipuram where we saw the famed sculptures carved out of single boulders. The carvings are pretty intricate and the sight is very pretty but the highlight of the visit was a monkey. While we were leaving the place we saw a troop of monkeys and one of them immediately took a fancy to my friend’s roomie. Now this girl is scared of almost every animal. It became very obvious to her that the monkey was eying the bottle in her hand. She threw it at the monkey. The monkey picked it opened the bottle and gulped the juice and looked so pleased! It was a sight. It does not seem hilarious in print but it was incredibly funny. But before going to Mahablipuram we stopped at the Crocodile Park where I learnt to hold a baby crocodile and also a python. I actually felt the crocodile gulp when I was holding it. The place ...
