Happiness is…… Being inspired :)

I wanted to dedicate a post to Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar. Sachin Tendulkar, the one individual who brought an entire country together for his last match. What a beautiful farewell he got and how much more inspiring his speech was. How marvelous a journey the man had led from his first interview giving monosyllable answers to an entire speech on the last day of his game. Talk about being moved. Amidst all this frenzy over Sachin retiring there was one section of the Country that believed that the fanfare was too much and that he didn’t deserve it and that everything was just a bit too much. They argued that the country had more pressing matters to take care of. That he was just another sportsman… yada yada… AND all I could think was…. WHAT A LEGEND! I mean to be the best at what you love to do - not just in your family, or your district, or your State, or your Country, or your Continent but to be the best in whole entire world… THAT that that is just mind blowing!!!!! News Thadka Marke

R.I.P IPL until the ghosts surface next season. Last night was such tragedy. You would think some major catastrophe hit us earthlings when RCB was defeated by MI. It WAS a catastrophe. It took excess will power not to put up status messages either cheering for RCB or jeering the team they were up against so as not to jinx the match. But, well… it happened and now it is over. Sadness. Seriously for the guy who wrote ‘The Great Indian Novel’, Mr. Tharoor couldn’t you have come up with a better defense than playing the sympathy card? I hate to admit it but I actually respected you even though you belonged to the ‘other’ party. Now I know for a fact that even the smartest most educated politician is not immune to Vitamin M*. [ Not that I am claiming you are the smartest or the most educated politician we have.] Where is the President? What is she doing? Does anyone know she exists? [These 3 questions have no relevance to this post, I am merely wondering. Can I have her...

Mr.Pinkie is OUT!

Nadal out of the French Open in the 4th round! Woo Hoo. I don't know why but i have never liked Nadal. I like people who are aggressive and competitive, but Nadal shows way too much emotion. I like people who can keep a poker face and yet be razor sharp in the game. Wow wow wow i have been wanting this to happen for so long. He finally crashed out. Yippee!!!

OK so I am one bored person on this planet right now. I slept away most of my boredom but that doesn’t really help so I am back at tapping the key board. I did post a blog this afternoon and then deleted it. Then I decided to export my other two blogs and import them to this blog. Now on I’ll have just one blog. After that I slept. Woke up. I have a terrible cold and my voice sounds super. No actually it sounds like the voice of a teenage boy who's experiencing the whole voice cracking bit. I decided to watch TV but there is nothing to watch on it. Why are there so many reality shows? Who watches them? Don’t people making these shows know that people have a life? Why would anyone want to waste their time watching random arbit people living their lives in front of a camera? ONCE upon a time MTV used to play music now there is just a little scattering of music and the rest is reality TV. The last time I sat for over 5 hours in front of the box was during the Nadal and Verdasco match...

IPL

Bangalore v. Punjab (Saturday) I bet that, Punjab would win -They were 46 for no loss when i saw the match and was feeling really cheerful that I'd be winning a bet. I had even put my money down and B'lore won! [Fact- I have never won a bet when money has been the consideration. The moment moolah comes into picture my luck runs out and there are some mysterious forces contriving my defeat.] Moral- I shouldn't gamble. Bangalore v. Mumbai (Sunday) I didn't say anything. Secretly cheered for Mumbai . Because i was initially confused as to which team to support during this IPL season. It narrowed down to two teams Mumbai and B'lore because I'm a Mangalorean born in Mumbai brought up in Mysore. So obviously 66% of me is with K'taka and 33% with Maharashtra the other 1% is well... i guess that percent will be in favour of the team that wins IPL . B'lore has moved up from 7 to 4. If they continue playing this way they'll hopefully remain in the...

Here comes the rain tu du du du

Mysore churned up the best hail storm ever and what timing! Today it was awesome! Till this evening all the windows in my room and study were open to defy the stifling heat so you can imagine when the storm broke out I had hail stones crashing on the floor from all the windows. The winds had gone berserk and there was no clear direction for the rain. Closing the windows was such a task. If it were left up to me I’d probably have left the windows open and allowed the rain water to flood the house but since I am not the only inhabitant here and I have parents to answer to, I couldn’t really do that. I have a very bad habit of leaving my books under the bed instead of on it so my books were slightly damaged nothing that the iron box can’t remedy but I don’t like it when the books look all puffed up and wavy and I most definitely dislike the water mark. :( It was nice while it lasted, but the aftermath needed lots of cleaning. We don’t have gulmohur trees on our street but I had a whole bu...

Sports, Politics and Misc.

Sigur Ros is an amazing band. My brother got me to listen to them. Hoppipolla is my favorite track as of now. I have 7 reports to submit. I don’t think I’ll be doing it till the last minute because the last minute rush of getting everything done and actually completing is more satisfying than having worked on each report individually treating each one as the most precious creation on the planet. Plus I am at my best when my head is totally muddled. Finding clarity in chaotic situations is far more rewarding than analyzing each word without making any progress. That is probably because when one has more time one becomes overly analytical putting even the most insignificant of things under the microscope and analyzing the same as if trying to find some hidden meaning. Where as last minute work usually gets me to attack all the necessary points and come up with decent arguments. The lack of time probably helps one notice the most important things. Ah to each his own I guess. The electi...

Roger Federer est le dieu! Je suis folle de lui!

Image
Yay!!!!! Federer won (again :D) and he is now in the quarter finals. Gosh the man is truly god. This is the first time after a real long time I saw him show some emotion while playing which was super surprising. For all those idiots who were hooting for Berdych --- BOO !!!! Because Federer won. It doesn’t matter that he is world’s numero deux now, because Naddy boy is never going to equal him in any which way. Talking about Nadal, it was surprising to see him in shorts and not his signature 3/4th tights ;) but the undies still don’t seem to stop bothering him. It’s either a case of a very tense rump or he just has picked up some really bad undies that don’t fit him. I guess someone should gift him a pair of boxers. That might help. But RF rules and will always rule muah muah muah :D and-->Nadal tomar una caminata
