Afzal Guru v. Sarabjit Singh

Two men. One a Pakistani terrorist, convicted in India for an attack on the Parliament and the other an Indian convicted in Pakistan for 4 bomblasts. Both have been sentenced with death. Mercy pleas have been forwarded to respective presidents. Afzal’s sentence has been stayed on the Indian front. Sarabjit on the Pakistani front had his death row extended for a month.

One of the leading political party made a statement, “If Sarabjit hangs so shall Afzal.” Politicians! Do they really believe they have the right to make such a statement? (RIDICULOUS!!!!!) Both countries have convicted the accused, in their respective judicial proceedings. Both have been sentenced. Lets respect the decision and let it take its course.

Today Sarabjit's family came forward stating that they won't plead for clemency, if it means trading Pakistani prisoners in India for Sarabjit. Hats off to his family.

Atleast Sarabjit's family have the proverbial 'dolanthu ragath' (blood in the eye).. that our foolish politicians seem to lack.

justice works in strange ways; if its the rule of law youre looking at, then maybe youre right, but then again thats not what its about when we're talking india-pakistan.. we wouldnt want to be taken for a ride especially when we know how shattered the pakistani judicial system is at the moment

That's exactly the reason why Afzal should be executed, so that at no point in future should he be the bargain for lives of Indians in Pakistani clutches.But also at no point should we release Pakistani prisoners for the sake of one convicted Indian, and further jeopardise our nations security. This might sound extreme but circumstances do call for such actions.

Hey Little Girl... Part I

The little girl aped her elder brother. To her, he was the coolest dude that existed. She was the kid in school who was spoken to because she was so and so’s sister. As a kid she was extremely naïve. The Journey

Last weekend was amazing. It began by me traveling solo from Mysore to Madras. I plonked my bags at my best friend's place. Her roomie, she and I headed to Mahabalipuram where we saw the famed sculptures carved out of single boulders. The carvings are pretty intricate and the sight is very pretty but the highlight of the visit was a monkey. While we were leaving the place we saw a troop of monkeys and one of them immediately took a fancy to my friend’s roomie. Now this girl is scared of almost every animal. It became very obvious to her that the monkey was eying the bottle in her hand. She threw it at the monkey. The monkey picked it opened the bottle and gulped the juice and looked so pleased! It was a sight. It does not seem hilarious in print but it was incredibly funny.
