The Movie Experiment

Experimenting with movies is one of the fun things I like doing. There is so much to choose from. You never know what you might end up liking. I am not going to elaborately discuss the plots of some of the movies I watched this past week but just mention as to why people must watch the movies I watched. If you have liked any of the movies I mention and can recommend some more please do.

Starting with Bommarillu which is one of the nicest movies I have seen in a really long time. The thing I liked most about the movie is the fact that there is no break in the flow of the story. Everyone can relate to it on some level and makes for an excellent movie to watch with the family. I also ended up watching Pokiri. I hadn’t heard about Pokiri ever. When the movie started I was pretty sure I wouldn’t like it at all but after the first 15 minutes of the movie I was hooked. Where Bommarillu is a nice family movie, Pokiri is extremely violent. Both are definitely worth a watch and depending on the individual the movies can be viewed over and over again. I never thought I would say that I like movies from Gult land but it seems like I do!

I had watched My Sassy Girl in Korean because a friend of mine told me to. I watched the movie in English which has the same title and the desi version called “Ugly aur Pagli”. The desi title in itself is a turn off and nobody who watched the movie I’m sure came out of the theater thinking… “Wow, I’d like a bit of that in my life.” The English version of it stirs no emotion and the innocence that is so potently present in the Korean version is completely absent.

Next on my list was Seducing Mr. Perfect, which is an out and out romantic movie and the kind that makes you believe that “love will come through”. It just makes you laugh and smile through out the movie.

All in all I was pleased with this bit of experimenting and I’m super thankful for subtitles too! :O
